Boulder Waldorf Kindergarten (BWK) is an early childhood center serving children ages 12 months to 6 years. We are a learning community where children can be children and imaginations come alive. BWK is situated on a beautiful 1-1/2-acre farm in north Boulder with chickens, goats, rabbits, biodynamic and organic gardens and fruit trees.

Our professional faculty is devoted to engaging every child in each facet of the school. Children play in our colorful and spacious classrooms, where they engage in art projects and dramatic play and explore aspects of daily living.

We are part of the largest and fastest-growing independent school movement in the world. Founded more 90 years ago by Rudolf Steiner, there are today more than 1,000 Waldorf schools worldwide. At the heart of the Waldorf philosophy is the belief that education is an art. As such, the curriculum is designed to ignite the child’s imagination and develop capacities for creative and independent thinking from the very earliest years. Our school is a wonderful example of practical and artistic life where children are inspired to learn and grow. Come and visit!
